Houston, TX, June 27, 2006 -- Texas Memory Systems, makers of the World's
Fastest Storage®, today announced that after passing the Windows Hardware
Quality Labs (WHQL) testing for interoperability with Microsoft Server 2003,
its RamSan-400 Fibre Channel solid state disk has successfully qualified for
the 'Microsoft Designed for Windows' Server 2003 badge.
Texas Memory Systems' RamSan solid state disks can accelerate I/O intensive
applications, such as those based on SQL Servers, by up to 2500%. Faster
applications can support more simultaneous users and process more concurrent
transactions without resorting to additional servers, associated licenses and
management overhead thus increasing productivity.
Applications that benefit from the speed of solid state disks include OLTP
(online transaction processing), OLAP (online analytical processing), modeling,
and data acquisition. Typical RamSan users include corporations in the
financial, telecom, broadcasting, and e-commerce sectors as well as government,
military, and research organizations.
With a 400,000 I/Os per second and an internal bandwidth of 3 gigabytes per
second that can be shared effectively amongst multiple servers, no RAID, cache,
or other solid state disk is capable of the raw performance offered by the
RamSan-400.
"Because solid state disks are used strategically to accelerate critical
applications, they need to work flawlessly in heterogeneous IT environments,"
said Woody Hutsell, executive Vice President at Texas Memory Systems. "Our
proactive approach to working alongside leading IT vendors means that our
RamSan product line is second to none in compatibility and performance."
