Texas Memory Systems Enters Commercial Storage
Market
Houston, Texas—May 10, 2001—Texas Memory
Systems, Inc., a computer hardware manufacturer specializing in solid
state disk storage for storage networks announced their decision to
enter the commercial storage market. TMS was founded in 1978, and has
historically focused on delivering high bandwidth and low latency
solutions for the military and defense contractors.
“We have been
evaluating the commercial market for several years,” said Holly Frost,
CEO of Texas Memory Systems. “The convergence of high-speed computers,
increasing network bandwidth, and more demanding applications are
creating storage bottlenecks that RAID cannot resolve because they
depend on hard disk drives for storage. The best solution for these
problems is our RamSan solid state disks.”
Of Texas Memory
Systems entry into the commercial market, Paul Kaler, Vice President of
Technology, at Texas Memory Systems said, “the storage networking
market, including Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network Attached
Storage (NAS), will grow tremendously over the next four years. We
believe that solid state disks will be a key part of that growth.”
TMS is actively seeking OEM and reseller relationships to drive our
entry into the commercial market place. “We will support a limited
direct sales capability, but we plan to aggressively focus our effort on
recruiting and supporting business partners,” according to Woody
Hutsell, Director of Marketing at Texas Memory Systems.
About Texas
Memory Systems
Texas Memory Systems (TMS) has specialized in high bandwidth, low
latency, I/O intensive storage systems since 1978. TMS products
were originally designed to meet the needs of the U.S. defense industry,
and now this advanced technology is available for mainstream computer
and storage applications. While the primary focus of our products
has been speed, we achieve this speed without resorting to overly
complex circuitry. This emphasis on simplicity allows TMS to
deliver outstanding performance with an easily understood and yet highly
configurable system. Texas Memory Systems is a member of the Fibre
Channel Industry Association (FCIA), the Storage Networking Industry
Association (SNIA), the DAFS Collaborative, and is partnered with
Oracle, Sun, Hewlett Packard, and FalconStor in order to deliver the
World’s Fastest Storage to the enterprise.
